The Visit Scotland website states:

'Scotland is the perfect choice for all levels of mountain biking with miles of trails, tracks and technical trick parks. Enjoy a varied landscape which offers an exciting ride amongst some of the most awe inspiring scenery in the world.'

At nineonesix-guiding we certainly agree with Visit Scotland and our unique location allows us to guide you on a variety of routes in the Torridon; Applecross; Gairloch, Lochcarron and Fisherfield areas. We can also provide guiding in other parts of Scotland such as the Cairngorms.

Whether you would like to ride away from the trail centres for the first time, need some coaching on particular skills, or want to tackle one of the famous Torridon Loops nineonesix-guiding have the experience and local knowledge to get you there. What you want to achieve will be discussed with your bike guide and we'll then create an exciting itinerary for your trip. Some of our more accessible locations allow a morning to consolidate, practice and master essential skills before riding 'on the hill' in the afternoon. A very popular choice with our biking clients has been three full days of guided biking with the scenery, technical demand and physical effort increasing each day to finish with a breathtaking ride in remote countryside only accessible by bike, or foot.

Some of our winter mountaineering clients have even been know to mix things up a bit with a day's guided mountain biking so anything is possible, all year round!

Bring your own bike, or hire a Merida hardtail locally from Torridon Activities who also carry a small but useful selection of spares. Your bike guide will also be able to give you advice on the best type of bike for your riding. This season Jim is using a Merida ONE-FORTY bike which has been upgraded by local bike shop, Dryburgh Cycles in Dingwall.

We can also discuss, plan and design overseas biking trips for you with our friends Jaime at AwayFromTheCrowds in Spain or Lisa in Sweden with PepUp.

Finally if all of this is a bit too tame we also offer Scottish wilderness biking weekends at Introductory and Intermediate/Advanced level. Download a PDF below for more details, or send us an email.
