Here in Torridon we are perfectly placed to sample the widest range of rock climbing anywhere in the UK. Climbing in the north west of Scotland ranges from single pitch trad and sport crags, to long mountain routes and sea stack adventures, Gabbro to Gneiss, Sandstone to Quartzite.
This variety allows us to tailor our courses specifically to your requirements, it also means we can go wherever the weather is best and (almost!) always find some dry rock. Also the wild and remote nature of our climbing means we can guarantee there will be no queuing for routes, usually with no one even on the same crag!
Courses are on a maximum ratio of 1:2, so you can really get the most out of your qualified instructor and cover some more ground.
All courses are tailor made, but here are some ideas to get you thinking;
Discover rock climbing
An introduction to the skills needed to get started along your rock climbing journey, belaying, building anchors and other basic ropework skills, movement coaching and mental preparation. Usually this would include at least one day at a single pitch venue to get started and could then progress onto multi-pitch climbing or some time sport climbing to really hone those new found moves!
The next steps
For climbers looking to expand their knowledge and skill set; whether you are looking to do your first lead climb, get in to the world of multi-pitch climbing, develop the technical and movement skills to push your grade, or just looking to make your climbing more efficient so that you can get more routes done then our instructors will have plenty of ideas to keep you busy, and the perfect crag for every one of them!
Advanced ropework and problem solving
Often described as self rescue, this would focus on keeping yourself out of trouble in the first place! Looking at belay selection, simple and advanced hoisting techniques and retreating from routes.
Guided classics
Just keen for a bit of a holiday and want to climb on some of the best crags, on some of the best rock in the world? Then let one of our instructors do all the hard work and just enjoy the journey as we sample a variety of climbing around the area.
Group climbing and abseiling days
Looking for a taster of rock climbing and abseiling? This great group activity can be arranged for either a full or half day, with a ratio of one instructor to six clients.
